Greenland/Traditional Paddling- Learn about the history of paddling, use some of the paddles and learn stroke and roll techniques. Kayak Camping- what do you take and how to do you fit it in there? Explore the different dry bags and loading systems Rescues- The Basics T-Rescue, Heel Hook and Hi- Rescue Rescues- Intermediate- Bow Rescue, H Rescue, Self Rescue Advanced- All In Rescue, Hand of God Rescue Endurance- how to get the most out of your miles- efficient paddling techniques as well as outside influences- how to prep for your day on the water! Loading your kayak- how to get that thing on your car/truck/suv- roof racks compared and contrasted Bracing Clinic- low, high and extreme high brace Eskimo Roll 101- for the beginner, we cover the basics Eskimo Roll Advanced- you have some working knowledge of the roll but could use some fine tuning. Depending on sign ups, we might do some women's only portions of these classes.	Cost: $150 for Chicago Kayak Club Members  How our Kayaking Class works We find wonderful kayaking destinations and spend the weekend learning, practicing, refining, and of course playing! Most locations you can find camping, cabins and hotel lodging.  By day by kayak, in the evenings, we usually get a meal out, or have a group campfire. Each location and group is different, so we do our best to accommodate the wants of the group.  Included in your fee is the kayaks, instructors/mentors, and the kayaking gear (example - pfd's, paddles, spray skirts, etc)  You are responsible for your own lodging, meals, and clothing. These sessions are appropriate for both beginner to intermediate level paddlers. We can cover the basics, or work on bracing, rolls and navigational issues (Nav is in Everglades City only)  Some weekends have a theme, like our Greenland Kayaking theme where we learn and practice traditional skills. In FL we work on beginner skills up to complex navigation in the 10,000 Islands area and expedition planning.  Contact us to learn more!
